New Reporting UI
The Look and feel of our reporting interfaces are being updated. The following interfaces have been updated to align with our modern design; New Report, Past Report, and Schedule Report. No major functionality is changing, so you should be familiar with these.
Along with an updated user interface, we've built a new charting tool to be displayed on our reports. The charting tool allows you to change your graph, download the chart and pivot your fields.
New Report Charting Tool
Our new charting tool allows you to choose how to visualise your data! Pivot by different fields for your graph, select your data points and download your graphs.
- Line Chart
- Bar Chart
- Area Chart
- Donut Chart
- Stacked Bar Chart
Different reports will have certain graphs available depending on what makes sense for each report.
What are Pivot Fields?
Pivot Fields are the fields you can use to change how to measure your data. With the Content Completion report, for example, you can Pivot your data by:
- Specific Content
- Content Type
- Content Category
- Content Status
Additionally, if you run your report with Custom User Fields, you can pivot by those. This is particularly handy when you want to view completions or compliance by a business area!
Here in this example, We are running a Content Completion report and pivoting by our user field, Department. We can now see how many content completions are within each department.
Your data points are what you are choosing to be plotted onto your graph. They are a breakdown of the pivot field you selected. This could be your content (specific courses or live learnings) or your Custom User Fields like department (HR, Sales, Marketing etc.).
Up to 5 points at a time can be plotted on the chart.
Do All Reports Have the New Charting Tool?
We looked at our most popular reports and updated those with our new charting tool.
The following reports have the new charting tool at launch:
- Content Completion Report
- Compliance Report
- User Report
We are scheduling all reports to be updated with the new charting tool over the next year (2023)
